Fundraising Events - 2010

Helen,  Donna &  Mark West Bletchley Carnival - 2010
The Summer fundraising events are in full swing at the moment but we are not making the most of the events we are booked into because of a lack of any sort of Stock Controller. It is such a shame that we are struggling like this. Unfortunately, with most of our Committee working full-time and already handling different roles within the branch, there just aren’t enough hours in the day for any of us to take on any additional tasks. If anyone thinks they would like to get more involved with the branch and help out with the Stock Controller role, do please get in touch for a chat. What we may do is split the role into several different duties, i.e., one person maintain stock levels and order new stock when needed, one person prepare the stock for fundraising events etc., but we are open to any suggestions or comments, we just desperately need someone to step in and give us some help in this area. We had a very successful weekend of collections at Dobbies Garden Centre recently, raising £369. These store collections are so worthwhile but quite difficult to secure so, if anyone has a contact at any of the larger stores in the area who might be receptive to us holding a collection, do please let me know. West Bletchley Carnival was a great day and, as in previous years, the whole of Bletchley seemed to turn up to support this event. We raised £270 on the day which is one of the few events where we have actually exceeded the previous year’s takings, so this was particularly well done to all those involved. As always, I would love to hear about any events where we might be able to have a fundraising stall and, if anyone is interested in helping with the stock in whatever capacity, do get in touch.
